    PLAYER: Dennard Flowers

    POSITION: Defensive end

    YEAR: Redshirt senior

    HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6'2", 260 lbs.

HOW DID HE GET HERE? Flowers was a low-to-mid three star prospect out of Fairburn, Georgia, and committed to Arkansas State over a handful of mid-major offers. His offer list on 247 features possibly the funniest thing I have encountered during this entire countdown series.*

Get absolutely bodied Southeast Missouri State!!!!!!!

Anyway, Flowers played at Arkansas State for three seasons. He redshirted his first season in 2021, then saw a decent amount of action as a rotational player in 2022 and 2023, playing in 22 games and making a pair of starts over those two seasons. His best season with the Red Wolves was probably 2022, when he totaled 10 tackles, 4 TFLs and three sacks.

He transferred to FCS Murray State in the offseason, and immediately became a starter for the Racers. After a quality season, he entered the transfer portal again in the spring and committed to USF in May, after reporting offers from Nevada, Buffalo, ULM, UTEP, and New Mexico State.

HOW WAS HIS 2024 SEASON? Flowers started all 12 games for the Racers, playing almost exclusively at defensive end. He had the most productive season of his college career, making 24 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks. Per PFF, he led all Murray State defensive linemen in snaps.

WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT IN 2025? After spring practices this season, the Bulls made a very clear commitment to beefing up their defensive line with a ton of rotational options. Flowers looks like he’ll be one of those options. I don’t see him as a starter for this team, but he’s earned some praise in fall camp and adds some pass-rushing chops to a defensive line in need of such skills.

*No disrespect intended here to the gallant site managers at 247 Sports, who work very hard and do a great job. I know this because I myself worked in that position back in the day … and now that you mention it, there is a not-insignificant chance that I was the person who wrote “bad” next to SE Missouri State. Ask not for whom the bells tolls.
