Stampeding Through the 2025 USF Football Roster: #32 CB Gavin Jenkins
More fall enrollees in the secondary!
PLAYER: Gavin Jenkins
POSITION: Cornerback
YEAR: Freshman
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6’2”, 181 lbs.
HOW DID HE GET HERE? Jenkins is from Lake Butler, where he played on both sides of the ball at Union County High School. In early 2024 he released a list of top schools that included USF, West Virginia, UCF, Memphis, and Toledo, plus a few others. He committed to Toledo over the summer, but the Bulls stayed on top of him and managed to bring him on campus for an official visit in November. Shortly thereafter, he flipped to USF and signed on early signing day.
The recruiting services rated Jenkins pretty highly - they had him pegged as a mid-to-high three star prospect. He also pulled in some nice offers from Michigan State, NC State, and Tulane.
WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT IN 2025? The Bulls went about twelve deep in the secondary last season, and I think about nine of those spots are already spoken for entering fall camp. That will leave a handful of underclassmen and incoming transfers fighting for the last few spots. I don’t favor any true freshmen in that battle, but it’s not out of the question. I do think Jenkins has a very bright future ahead of him and is one of the more exciting prospects in USF’s secondary.
