TAMPA, FL - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers come out on top of the NFC south after a 28-13 win against the Las Vegas Raiders at home this past Sunday in Raymond James stadium.

As December football begins, the more meaningful each game becomes for the Bucs as the playoffs approach. If the games play out the way fans want them to, this would become the fourth year straight Tampa Bay enters the playoffs after winning the NFC South, and fifth straight year with a playoff appearance.

“Just because we are in first is one thing, to stay in first is a whole other deal,” Head Coach Todd Bowles said in the post game press conference.

Running Back Rachaad White had a standout game, carrying the ball 17 times for 90 yards and a touchdown to secure the win.

“I mean it feels good to win and just be on a win streak.” White told the press in the post game press conference.

It was a perfect example of complimentary football as Quarterback Baker Mayfield led the offense behind three touchdown passes, even with a few slip ups. Mayfield threw two turnovers against the Raiders win, and carries a 28:13 touchdown to interception ration this season.

“We’ll take wins. I don’t really care how it looks,” Mayfield said, “ Offensively we need to be a lot more consistent for us to be able to make this push we want to do.”

Mayfield has continued to show his skills in the pocket, yet the interceptions also continue to pile up. However, one of those interceptions did end up right back to the Bucs, as Linebacker Lavonte David scooped up a fumble the very next play.

The defensive performance did not disappoint even with the inconsistency of injuries lately. One of those injuries being Safety Antoine Winfield Jr., who was ruled out in the second half of the game with a knee injury. According to Coach Bowles, Winfield is expected to miss several weeks after the injury resulted in a right knee sprain.

The second injury to come during game time was the up and coming Rookie Bucky Irving with a back injury. When asked in the post game press conference, Coach Bowles had no updates yet.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be back on the road next week to play the Los Angeles Chargers at the SoFi Stadium on Sunday December 15 with a 4:25 p.m. kick off on Fox.
