# Tampa BAE Lightning Game 68: Westward Ho!

The Tampa Bay Lightning are heading back out West for a 3 game road trip for the final time this season. The trip kicks off against The Dallas Stars for an 8 PM EST puck drop.

This is the 2nd and final time the Bolts will see the Stars in the regular season. The Stars took the first game when they beat the Bolts Nov. 23rd by a score of 4-2\. Since that game, the Bolts & Stars have managed to snag 2nd place in their respective divisions despite up and down results on the ice for the Bolts.

Interestingly, both teams are 6-3-1 in their last 10\. The Stars have scored an impressive 42 goals in that span, but they’re also conceding quite a bit with 28 goals against. Meanwhile, the Bolts have struggled a bit to score notching only 31 in that same span but their defense, overall, has been pretty good (outside of the Buffalo game) as they have only conceded 13 in their last 10.

This game is really going to come down to how well the Bolts are able to stymie the Stars scoring ability. This team has the potential to really go off and pile on the goals. If the Bolts want to have a shot here, they’re going to keep up that shutdown Lightning defense that’s been a hallmark of the Cooper Era.

Overall, I like the Bolts to pull off a win here. They have an extra day off to the Stars schedule and I think their willingness to play into the system is going to be evident after a not super strong showing against Philly. They played just OK against a bad team and still managed to win. Play great against a good team and they got this. Surrender goals early and fall out of their system then it’s going to be a VERY long night.
