Tampa BAE Lightning: Game 47

The Tampa Bay Lightning are back on the ice to continue their road trip with a quick jaunt into the Central Division to take on the Chicago Blackhawks tonight at 8 PM EST.

The Bolts find themselves scratching and clawing for playoff position with 7 other teams in the Atlantic after they pissed away their games in hand like a bunch of jerks failed to take advantage of their games in hand on their Atlantic brethren.

It’s the first time the teams will meet this season with the 2nd and final game coming on the 28th of this month. NHL scheduling is weird.

Chicago is bottom 5 in both offense and defense this year as they continue to rebuild. They also have allowed the 3rd most goals in the league.

But they’re strangely good on special teams. PK is very effective at 82.96% & the PP is 9th at 23.89%.

Their highest goal scorer has 17 on the season and their goalies are pretty below average coming in for a team average of 3.43 placing them at 29th in the NHL.

The Blackhawks have only won 3 of their last 10 games and they’ve allowed fewer than 3 goals just twice in that same span.

The Bolts should absolutely feast here and they really need to. Winning and points are premium right now. Win this and build. Lose and, well, let’s no even go there.
