Tampa BAE Lightning Game 21: 12-in-10 Part II
Hello, It's Me.
Welcome back to regularly scheduled Lightning Updates from your friends at The Bay Area Examiner! It’s been a while since we’ve checked on our beloved Lightning Hockey Club. Let’s take a look at the standings…

The Lightning maintained playoff pace by erasing their deficit from the first ten games and have now managed 24 points in 20 games. While it doesn’t leave a buffer, it does meet the threshold and, to their credit, they have been playing MUCH better as of late despite several key injuries. They also have the best goal differential in the Atlantic Division!
Up next, the Bolts are back on the ice for Game 21 against The Washington Capitals today at 7 p.m. on the road. This is the third and final regular season game between the two teams.
The Capitals have been pretty good this season and are currently riding a three game winning streak. A giant part of their success has been strong goal tending from Logan Thompson (2.00 GAA; .920 SV%).
Speaking of Thompson, he has been the goalie for both games between these two teams and the results have been split with the Bolts losing in OT & winning in regulations. Both games he has had a sub .900 SV%. So while he has, overall, been very good; he has struggled with the Lightning.
In their three game win streak, they have given up nine goals while scoring 17. The scoring is RED HOT for the Caps which isn’t very reassuring since the Lightning will likely be without Hedman, Cernak, & McDonagh.
I’m not super confident that the Lightning defense will be able to handle that onslaught. Vasy is going to have his hands full. Should be a good one! Go Bolts!
