**PLAYER:** Mudia Reuben

**POSITION:** Wide receiver

**YEAR:** Redshirt junior

**HEIGHT/WEIGHT:** 6'2", 210 lbs.

**HOW DID HE GET HERE?** Saying that Reuben is a man of many talents is the understatement of the century. Listen to this: he was a nationally recruited soccer player before committing to football full-time as a junior at Park Hill South High School in Riverside, Missouri, outside Kansas City. He ended up earning a number of power conference offers and took official visits to Stanford and Vanderbilt before choosing the Cardinal. Also, he played kicker. We’re not even close to done yet!

He played right away as a true freshman at Stanford in 2022, appearing in all 12 games and catching four passes for 31 yards and a score. As a sophomore in 2023, he saw increased playing time and started three games, upping his numbers to 15 catches for 199 yards. Here’s a highlight reel of his 2023 season, if you’re curious.

After an injury derailed his 2024 season, he entered the transfer portal in the spring of 2025 after graduating from Stanford in three years (!!!). He received offers from UNC and West Virginia, among others, but opted to sign with the Bulls and joined the team over the summer.

I know what you’re thinking: playing football *and* graduating from Stanford in three years? He must have been so busy that he didn’t have time for any other extracurriculars! What if I told you that he founded a nonprofit dedicated to providing clean water to villages in Nigeria where his parents grew up, and got it off the ground using his own NIL funds?

Just incredible stuff. You can read about it and donate [here](https://www.nigeriawaterproject.org/?ref=bayareaexaminer.com). **HOW WAS HIS 2024 SEASON?** Unfortunately, cut short by a foot injury in Stanford’s third game, which sidelined him for the rest of the season. Before his injury, he had reeled in four balls for 31 yards and a touchdown, which you can see at 0:14 in the video below.

Reuben’s hard work didn’t go unrecognized. At the end of the season, he earned the Billy Anderson Commitment to Community Outreach Award, which honors the Stanford football player most committed to community service.

**WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT IN 2025?** When Reuben announced he was coming to USF, I figured that he’d be one of a handful of receivers competing for a spot in the rotation. As the offseason has gone on, I’ve been very impressed by how much Bulls coaches and players are talking about him. Both Alex Golesh and Byrum Brown gave him a shoutout in USF’s initial fall presser, and Golesh gave us a little more detail ahead of fall camp:

> “Physically, he has every imaginable tool \[…\] He gives us multiplicity because we're playing him some in the slot, but also on the outside, which is probably his natural home. I think he needs to get settled in and get some camp reps. But he has some good years left, so we see a big future.”

I’ve gone from thinking that Reuben is a good addition to the rotation to thinking that he may be a week one starter. At any rate, he should see plenty of playing time, and Bulls fans should be thrilled that he chose to bring his many talents and passions to USF.
