**PLAYER:** Wyatt Sullivan

**POSITION:** Tight end

**YEAR:** Redshirt junior

**HEIGHT/WEIGHT:** 6’4”, 242 lbs.

**HOW DID HE GET HERE?** Sullivan started out at Buford High School outside of Atlanta, but he transferred to Robert. F. Munroe in Quincy, Florida and played wide receiver there. He was rated a mid three-star prospect and received offers from a handful of mid-major schools, eventually electing to attend FAU. There, he transitioned to tight end and played sparingly as a freshman, taking a redshirt season. In 2023, he played regularly on special teams and made some spot appearances at tight end, catching five balls for 29 yards on the year.

He took a huge step forward in 2024 and became the Owls’ first-choice option at tight end, starting eight of their 12 games and posting career highs across the board. A couple days after FAU’s season ended, Sullivan entered the transfer portal and reported offers from the likes of UAB and North Texas, along with USF. He chose the Bulls and made it official on early signing day a couple weeks later.

**HOW WAS HIS 2024 SEASON?** As mentioned above, Sullivan was generally FAU’s first-string tight end throughout the season. He was relatively quiet on the stat sheet for the first couple games, but he exploded in a midseason game against North Texas with a couple highlight-reel plays: first, he reeled in a long pass on a wild sequence on 3rd and 18 that saw him bounce off a defender and rumble inside the 10 for a 38-yard gain that set up an Owls field goal (1:54 below). Later in the quarter, he caught a 28-yard touchdown pass after a double reverse flea-flicker that should look familiar to USF fans (2:25).

On the season, Sullivan caught 13 passes for 155 yards and two scores. As a former receiver, he’s a good athlete and is capable of lining up all across the formation; per PFF, about 24% of his snaps came split out wide.

**WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT IN 2025?** Sullivan was an impressive add. He’s one of several transfers USF brought in this season who have already proven themselves at the AAC level (Cartevious Norton, Dre Butler, Jacob Merrifield, and Chavez Brown being the others). The Bulls do have a bit of a logjam at tight end; although last year’s starter Payten Singletary departs, 2023 starter Weston Wolff returns after an injury-plagued season, as does blocking specialist Evan Dangler and former blue-chipper Jonathan Echols. Someone in that bunch is presumably going to get the short end of the stick.

I don’t think it’ll be Sullivan, though. All indications are that he’ll play quite a bit this season. He made some flashy plays in spring practice, and has received praise from Alex Golesh in his fall camp pressers. Golesh stated that Sullivan has “every imaginable tool” and was competing for a starting position, though he did note that he’s still adjusting some to the Bulls’ offensive system. If you forced me to guess, I’d say that the Bulls will be rotating bodies at tight end quite a bit, and that Sullivan will be one of the go-to options in passing situations. He may not be the locked-in starter that he was at FAU, but I think he’ll be seeing a lot of action.
