Fun news! With AAC media days right around the corner, USF has dropped an updated football roster\* including all fall enrollees. There won’t be a Stampeding entry for each of them - just those that have numbers matching days that are still to come - but we’ll cover the rest in one post closer to the start of the season. Today we meet our first of those fall enrollees.

**PLAYER:** Dorian Mallary Jr.

**POSITION:** Cornerback

**YEAR:** Freshman

**HEIGHT/WEIGHT:** 5’11”, 175 lbs.

**HOW DID HE GET HERE?** Mallary was a somewhat surprising addition to USF’s 2025 recruiting class, purely because his commitment happened so late in the cycle. As a senior in high school, he played cornerback *and* quarterback - a very fun combo - for Immaculata-LaSalle High School in Miami. His gaudy numbers and big-time speed (he was a track star as well) put him on the radar of USF and FIU. He visited the Bulls in late January 2025, committed a couple days later, and signed in February on national signing day.

**WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT IN 2025?** I suspect not much, since asking a true freshman arriving in the fall to climb a pretty busy depth chart in the secondary is asking a lot. But I love Mallary’s profile. When a high school player is playing on defense andat quarterback, it’s probably because the team is trying to get their best athlete on the field as much as possible. And Mallary looks like a very, very good athlete.
