**PLAYER:** Weston Wolff

**POSITION:** Tight end

**YEAR:** Redshirt senior

**HEIGHT/WEIGHT:** 6'4”, 239 lbs.

**HOW DID HE GET HERE?** Wolff was a promising mid-to-high three star prospect down at Venice High School, and he racked up an impressive offer sheet including the likes of Miami, Ole Miss, and Maryland. He went with the Terps, but played sparingly there for two seasons in 2021 and 2022\. He entered the transfer portal at the end of the 2022 season having caught one pass in his two years in College Park.

He committed to USF in early December 2022 and became the Bulls’ starting tight end from the jump, appearing in all 13 games in the 2023 season and starting ten. Wolff was a reliable short-yardage option for Byrum Brown all year, finishing with 16 catches for 159 yards. His highlight of the season was probably hurdling a Bama defender to convert a key fourth down, making color commentator Robert Griffin III squeal (click the picture for a fun memory).

**HOW WAS HIS 2024 SEASON?** Unfortunately, Wolff suffered an injury in the offseason that effectively sidelined him for the entire 2024 season. He played a bit in the Bulls’ season opener against Bethune-Cookman, but that was it. In his absence, Cincinnati transfer Payten Singletary stepped up as the Bulls’ starter at tight end and performed admirably.

**WHAT SHOULD WE EXPECT IN 2025?** It’s extremely difficult to project how effective players will be when they’re coming off of major injuries (and USF has a couple of those this year). In addition, the Bulls have a lotof options at tight end this season, with FAU transfer Wyatt Sullivan and blue-chipper Jonathan Echols both presumably destined for a good amount of playing time. A fully healthy Wolff would definitely be a major factor in the rotation and would be a nice boost for USF’s passing game, but I think it’s best to keep expectations modest until we see him back out there.
